Splitting transactions
Divide one charge across several categories.
Split a transaction when one charge covers several categories, such as a store run that's part groceries and part household goods.
Wait for a pending transaction to post, then open it and choose Split. Enter at least two parts with their own amounts and categories; the parts must add up to the original total. Each part must be nonzero and have the same direction as the original: all expenses or all income. Each part can also have its own tags and notes.
Lists and totals show the parts in place of the original. Penny keeps the original record without counting it twice. Rules can't create splits.
To total a trip or project, tag its transactions instead of splitting them.
Undoing a split
Remove the split to bring back the original transaction.
The parts and their notes, tags, and receipts are permanently removed.
